Be The Change Leadership Conference

Pharr Housing authority sponsored by Summit Signature Properties attended Be the Change Leadership Conference hosted by the Persistence in Adversity Foundation and Dr. Adame. We are grateful of being changing agents for our upcoming community leaders.

2023 Career Day

Jovanna Rivera Resident Services and Marketing Director and Aaron Leal FSS Coordinator representing Pharr Housing Authority in Valley View North Elementary School Annual Career Day. We were honored to be around heroes such as the U.S. Army, Pharr Police department, Pharr Fire Department, and Border Patrol Agent. We want to thank Valley View North Elementary Principal Antonio de La Cerda and Margaret Santos Counselor for inviting us. Thank you to Ms. Jimenez and Ms. Guajardo 2nd grade teachers for giving us time in their classrooms.

2023 Miss Pharr Scholarship Pageant

Pharr Housing Authority had two contestants in the Miss Pharr Scholarship Pageant with Miss Pharr Housing Authority 2023 Ruby Delgado and Miss Pharr Housing Authority 2021 Valentina Martinez sponsored by Summit Signature Properties. Valentina Martinez won Miss Congeniality congratulations! We are so proud of them both.

Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council Grant Award

The Pharr Housing Authority would like to thank the LRGVDC for the $3.088 Millon Grant they received on March 21, 2023. The award was presented to Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez and PHA Executive Director Noel De Leon by Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, MD.

2023 Miss Pharr Housing Authority Pageant

We are thrilled to share this highlight video of the 2023 Miss Pharr Housing Authority Pageant held on February 16 2023. The video features the amazing winners: Ms. Ruby Delgado, our new Miss Pharr; 1st runner up, Dulce Ramos; and 2nd runner up, Jacquelyn Torres.

Congratulations to all the young women who participated in the pageant and brought beauty and grace to our community. We would also like to extend our gratitude to our generous sponsors, including our main sponsor Summit Signature Properties, who provided scholarships for the winners and participants. We would also like to thank Fazolis, Meraki Institute of Beauty & Wellness, Skills USA, and Vanguard Academy for their support.

We are proud to continue our tradition of promoting excellence and empowerment through this event, and we wish Ms. Ruby Delgado all the best as she moves on to compete in the Miss Pharr competition next month.

Merry Little Christmas 2022

On Wednesday December 21, 2022, the Pharr Housing Authority had its Annual Merry Little Christmas Gathering. All residents if the PHA were invited to join us at the Jose Pepe Salinas Civic Center for an afternoon of food and fun. All children who attended received a present and were able to take pictures with Santa Claus himself. We would like to give special thanks to Executive Director Noel De Leon for allowing this event to take place. We would also like to thank the Pharr Police Department for all of their assistance.

Happy Thanksgiving to our Residents!

On November 19th, 2022 the Pharr Housing Authority held a Thanksgiving Celebration for all of our residents. PHA Staff and Residents joined together to give thanks and celebrate the many blessings we have received this year.  The prayer was offered by Rev Jose Losoya from Saint Jude’s Church in Pharr and a Full Thanksgiving meal was enjoyed by all.

Pharr Housing Authority Project Read 4th Annual Scholarship Banquet.

The Pharr Housing Authority along with The City of Pharr and Pharr San Juan Alamo ISD recently held their 4th Annual Read Project Scholarship Banquet. On June 24, 2022 at the Jose “Pepe” Salinas Memorial Recreation Center, PHA awarded scholarships to 48 deserving students that are residents of the Pharr Housing Authority. Donations made by the City of Pharr and PSJA ISD totaling $72,327 were used to fund these scholarships and are intended to help further these students post high school academic careers. We would like to thank The City of Pharr and PSJA ISD for their assistance and generosity

Pharr Housing Annual Resident Halloween Candy Giveaway.

PHA Halloween!

On Friday October 29th 2021, The Pharr Housing Authority hosted its Annual Resident Halloween Candy Giveaway. Little Ghosts and Goblins from all over the area joined our staff for a howling good time. The PHA Staff joined in on the fun by dressing up in their own costumes while giving out candy to our residents.
